Non-Toxic Hand Soap: Choosing the Safest Soap for Your Family

It might sound a little controversial, but not all soaps were created equal.

For instance, did you know that a “cleansing soap” can damage your skin beyond repair. Yes, I know – it can definitely help you with detoxification, but at what cost?

Due to this reason, it’s always important to check a product thoroughly before buying it. It is better to use natural bar soap as they are gentle on the skin. These soaps are cheaper in the long run than store-bought bar soaps. Not only do you save on the price of the soap itself, but you also save on the cost of ingredients that go into making regular store-bought bar soaps.

How Do You Choose The Safest Soap?

When it comes to choosing a safer soap product, you will need to be a little careful and make a list of considerations. Here are a few of them.

Consideration – 1: Decide What You’re Looking For.

Are you thinking about opting for a vegan, all-natural skincare product? Or, do you want to go for something easy to find and inexpensive? Well, if you want to use the soap to detoxify or take care of your skin, I’ll ask you to choose a traditional handcrafted product. They tend to be pretty mild in nature and, hence, don’t affect your skin too much at all. Using them regularly can even improve your skin tone too. On the other hand, a syndet bar is quite inexpensive and does the job pretty well. However, it usually comes with harsh materials as a whole. Therefore, you should only use them as a cleanser, nothing else. And, don’t use them daily. Just once or twice a week will suffice.

Consideration – 2: A Body Soap And A Facial Bar.

The subhead doesn’t make too much sense, right? Wait, let me explain. The quality of your facial skin and the skin on your body are a little different. While the latter is more on the “durable” side, the former is quite sensible. Therefore, if you’re thinking about using the same soap to wash both of them, you’re making a huge mistake. When it comes to taking care of your face, opting for a facial bar should do the trick for you. They’re quite mild in nature and, therefore, won’t harm or cause an acne outburst and could potentially help treat severe acne that’s been there. Conversely, body soaps tend to be a little harsh in nature.

Consideration – 3: Talk To Your Dermatologist.

When it comes to buying soap for your skin, the safest route is to talk to your dermatologist before making a decision. As a professional, they’ll understand your skin better than you. So, it’ll be easier for them to determine if there’s something wrong with it or not.

In some cases, they can also offer the best possible suggestions for your purpose. Just provide them with a list of products you want to use, and that’s all. You’ll get a solution instantly.

Consideration – 4: Listen To What Your Skin Is Saying.

Sometimes, when you use a particular product, you may see a mild development of rash on your skin. It’s a sign that the component isn’t right for your skin health. Thus, no matter how good or “healthy” the product is, you should avoid it at any cost.

Almost everyone’s skin is quite different from the other and, therefore, will react distinctly to a specific product. Therefore, before you make any decision, do check the list of ingredients closely. See, if there’s something that might affect your skin or not.

Is A Traditional Soap Really The Best Option?

    Well, yes… and, no.

Generally, a traditional soap product is made by mixing vegetable oils, animal fats, and liquid with alkali. Hence, it usually doesn’t have a harsh nature in my opinion. However, it can still affect sensitive skin quite negatively. If you’re using them regularly, it might –

    • Causes rashes on your skin.
    • Lead to an acne outburst.
    • Change the color of your skin.
    • Make it appear drier than usual.

Hence, when it comes to tackling sensitive skin, you should always opt for something milder. It should also contain palm or coconut oil. They can improve your skin naturally and keep it well-moisturized, through and through. Hence, your skin’s overall well-being will improve impressively, even if you are using it regularly.

So, that’ll be all for this one.

Let me know if you have a suggestion or two for me in the comment section below. I’ll surely address them as soon as I can!
